The next stage of the commemoration of Michael and Fedor is represented by the sprawling "Tale", to which I dedicated the separate work. This story was written at the end of the 13th century based on the records of the Laurentian and Hypatian annals. Since these records did not provide material for a full-fledged life, a shortened version was written, which in hagiography is called "suffering" (a life focused exclusively on the saint’s martyrdom). The Bible and the lives of ancient saints served as additional materials here.
