Guillaume de Rubruk

Guillaume de Rubruk (de Rubrouck, year of birth unknown – 1248 – 1265 – year of death unknown) – Fleming of the family, a monk of the Order of Franciscans. He went down in history as the author of a great and very interesting book "Journey to the eastern countries", wrote as report of trip 1252 – 1255 to Mongol Khan Möngke.
This book has not yet been the subject of source research and this article sets the goal to fill up as far as possible the gap.
The work is based on the Russian translation of Rubruk made by Alexander Yustynovych Malein and first published in 1911. In 1957, this translation was republished with a foreword by N. Shastina, and since it made .
