This building was built in 1875 – 1881th on the Red Square specifically for the placement of the historical museum, which worked here and now. Its architecture reflects search for Russian national style. Red paint has something in common with neighboring walls of the Kremlin, and some elements of the facade reminiscent of St. Basil's Cathedral, located at the opposite end of the square.
