After the great fire of 1812 in Moscow was built many new landlords mansions in the classical style. This fellow house Antypiyivsky Lane (now Marshal Shaposhnikov street) built in 1820s, and he is very typical for its time and style: rustic ground floor, embossed decorations on the first floor windows, central part, accentuated with 6-element Ionic portico, finally, mezzanine.
I could not discover from which Verstovsky the house got its name. Glorious composer Alexey Verstovsky lived in Moscow in 1822 – 1862 's, but his mansion pointing elsewhere.
